Geneva Human Rights Hub to Host Workshop at RightsCon 2026

The Geneva Human Rights Hub (GHRH) has been selected to host a workshop at RightsCon 2026, which will take place from 8–11 June 2026 in Lusaka, Zambia. The session, titled “Digital Platforms and AI for Smarter Human Rights Monitoring,” co-organized with HURIDOCS and the Commonwealth Secretariat Small States Office, will explore how digital platforms and artificial intelligence can contribute to more effective human rights monitoring and reporting.

Human rights monitoring is increasingly shaped by the growing availability of digital data and technological tools that allow information to be collected, organised and analysed at scale. Across international organisations, governments, national human rights institutions and civil society, digital platforms and databases are emerging to track recommendations, document developments and follow progress in implementation.

The workshop will bring together practitioners and innovators to discuss how digital solutions and open-source technologies can help address practical monitoring challenges, particularly for small states and civil society organisations.

This session forms part of the Geneva Human Rights Hub’s work on Digital Technologies and AI for Human Rights Monitoring, which examines the evolving ecosystem of digital tools used to track human rights recommendations and implementation across international, regional and national systems. Through this work, the Hub also explores how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, can support the analysis and use of human rights information while remaining grounded in human rights principles.

The GHRH team looks forward to engaging with the diverse community of participants, innovators and practitioners gathered at RightsCon 2026, and to exchanging ideas on how digital innovation can support stronger and more connected human rights monitoring worldwide.
